PROFET

The Professional Organization of Filipino Educational Therapists exists to provide training and leadership for Filipino Educational Therapists (FET).

PROFET aims to promote the highest professional and ethical standards for educational therapy in the Philippines.

PROFET also aims to protect the  welfare and rights of learners with difficulties and disabilities who undergo educational therapy.

While we protect the rights of PROFET members, we also want to lead them by  enforcing strict observance of the PROFET Code of Ethics.

Finally, PROFET exists to certify FILIPINO EDUCATIONAL THERAPISTS who demonstrate competence and who have met standards as practitioners and PROFET members.

Through PROFET, we hope to broaden public awareness about the nature of learners with delays, difficulties, and disabilities, as well as the qualities of effective EDUCATIONAL THERAPY practice in the Philippines.

Educational Therapy

Educational therapy is a specialized form of intervention that provides one-on-one support to students struggling with learning difficulties or disabilities. The main goal of educational therapy is to optimize learning and school adjustment. Educational therapy focuses on learning challenges and addresses difficulties with reading, writing, math, organization, attention, and/or other academic skills.  Educational therapists deliver interventions based on each learner's specific needs and learning style. Educational Therapy includes multi-sensory intervention, direct instruction, cognitive strategies, behavioral management techniques, and addressing underlying emotional factors that affect learning.
